BIOGRAPHY:
Sezpool was (re)founded in 2018 after a hiatus of more than 10 years! Initially, Sezpool was founded in 2004 under the band name Keyser Söze, named after the evil criminal from the 1995 movie The Usual Suspects. But since nobody could remember this band name, let alone pronounce it correctly, a new name was finally chosen at the end of 2006: Sezpool!
Sezpool has had various band line-ups in his early years. However, the three hardcore members: Le Grand, Franz and Dennuz, always remained in their place in the band, while many guitarists and drummers came and went.
After having done a handful of performances in 2006, including the festivals Randrock and Parelpop, it was decided in 2007 that each member would go their own way, to start new musical challenges elsewhere. So the band At Mercy's Gate emerged from these remnants and Dennuz joined Sweet Candy Kills from Zwolle. Le Grand would later join Cirrha Niva from Den Bosch.
When Sweet Candy Kills in turn threw in the towel in 2018, drummer Pascal and Dennuz decided to continue making music together. After making some instrumental songs, Cirrha Niva's Le Grand was asked to give his inspiration to those songs. Gradually a new band was created and since Le Grand and Dennuz were already among those aformentioned hardcore members of Sezpool, the choice of a band name was of course a piece of cake; Sezpool was born again!
Immediatly they searched diligently for a tight bassist and a (second) guitarist to complete the band. The bass beast was found fairly quickly in the person of Mark, from The Damned Few. But finding a second guitarist became a completely different story. At least a dozen guitar players auditioned! The most diverse musicians passed in review, but none could really appeal to the band. Until Tim, from the band Schimanski, came along in september of 2022 and completely blew everyone away! Sezpool is finally complete and ready to attack!
But after performing a few gigs in 2024, bassist Mark decided to leave the band due to private circumstances... but fortunately an excellent replacement was
quickly found in the person of Geert Hooning. Geert has played in Harrow and also in Schimanski.
Sezpool is currently concentrating on writing new material and planning/playing live shows. In 2024 a CD and LP will be released with 9 songs! We hope to see you somewhere during one of our performances... keep on rocking!
